Chemical constituents:

Tannins, saponins, flavonoids, phenolic compounds, cardiac glycosides and carbohydrates from aerial parts; sterol: sobatum, alkaloid: solasodine from plant

 

Bioactivity :

Extracts from aerial parts: antibacterial; petroleum ether extract of plant: induces cytotoxicity in lung fibroblast cells; sobatum: inhibits peritoneal tumors; alcohol extract of plant: anti-inflammatory, hepatoprotective, antioxidative, chemopreventive; solasodine: anti-inflammatory, antinociceptive

 

Clinical:

Oral administration of whole plant powder is effective in bronchial asthma
